Redemption by Propitiation

How did Christ redeem us?  What does it mean that Jesus is our propitiation?  More of those big words (as we discussed in the last few posts) that is so important to the gospel.  Because of our sin, because of God’s righteousness and justice, the penalty needs to be paid, a sacrifice.  God the Father provided that through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Jesus is “a propitiation by His blood” We are redeemed through Him.  So what exactly do these words mean? I AM’s…The Way, the Truth, the Life

There was a sermon a couple weeks ago about how Christianity is exclusive…yet very inclusive.  Jesus Christ offers salvation to ALL who believe.  If you trust in Jesus Christ, you will be saved.  No exceptions.  But it is ONLY through Jesus Christ.  There is no other way to heaven.  No other way to the Father.  Jesus is the only way.  Through Him we have eternal life.  That is the truth. I AM’s…The Bread of Life

I thought it would be fun and interesting to go through the “I AM’s” in John that Jesus proclaims.  Saying “I AM” was kind of taboo in the Jewish society  because they did not want to utter God’s name Yahweh that he proclaims to Moses for the people, which means “I AM.”  When Jesus said to the people, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM,” they were angry and offended because they did not believe that He was God (John 8:58).  But He is and has shown through the miracles and His death and resurrection.  He lives today in each of us that believe and trust in Jesus Christ.  Today we will start with the first “I AM,” The Bread of Life. Only Jesus

Who or what do we worship?  Is there more than one way to get to heaven or to be with God?  Can we have access directly with God or must we go through someone or something else or do certain things?  There is no other way accept through Jesus.  He is the only way.  He is all we need to receive salvation.  God’s Word is clear on this.  It is my prayer that all of my friend, family and readers understand this.  I pray that God gives me the understanding as I read (and write).  I find that it is such a joy to learn about Him and I hope you will too. Ruth 4: The Redemption

The story of Ruth is a love story.  It is a love story of a man and a woman.  It is a love story of a mother and daughter-in-law, of friendship.  It is a love story of God and His people, God and us.  Ruth goes beyond a love story.  It describes the character of people.  It describes customs of ancient Israel.  It describes compassion.  It shows that no matter who we are, we are loved by God and can be used by God to bless others.  We also see some parallels of how Jesus redeems us.  Though we were sinners, enemies of God, aliens, God provided a way to redeem us.  Jesus is our Redeemer.  Continue reading “Ruth 4: The Redemption”
