Jesus’ ministry did not stop at the cross. In many ways it had just begun. Christ said, “It is finished.” Dying on the cross accomplished God’s goal. But part of the victory is conquering death so that we may be raised into eternal life. Without the resurrection, He was just another prophet. But Jesus is more than that; He is our God, our Savior, our Lord. He also had to prepare His disciples for their ministry. And He revealed Himself to many. One day He will return and reveal Himself to all. Continue reading “Events of Jesus’ Resurrection”

God’s Plan Through Jesus and the Cross
We have been discussing Jesus’ words on the cross. God had a plan all along. Jesus proclaimed that He accomplished it. God spoke through Isaiah nearly 800 years earlier about this time. Daniel mentions the coming of the Messiah over 400 years earlier and gives a specific date. God’s message gave hope, and that hope was through Jesus Christ. Anxiety and Worry
After the last series, I was not sure what to write about next. I am still not sure where to go from here. I need to be patient and listen to the Holy Spirit to guide me. In the meantime, I have been struggling looking for work. I was laid off the end of July and it has been frustrating, getting few calls. There also has been a couple family issues to deal with. So, this one is kind of reminding me that God is good and He provides. He will take care of me and I don’t have to worry, because I can trust in Him for things to work out. It is a time to remember that many in this world are struggling, a lot worse than I. I have been very blessed, as most people are in this country and many of us take it for granted. I have been to Haiti several times and each time I am reminded of this. Though people are in poverty, sometimes in danger, they still can find joy. I see it in their smiles, I see it in the love they have shown me. This lady in the featured picture was always smiling and singing praises to God, though she lived in an impoverished, struggling country. We can learn from people like her. God doesn’t always give us everything we want or get us out of the storm, but He is always there to help us through it. And I know there is more blessing ahead. So, don’t worry. Resurrection Sunday…He has Risen!
Easter time…I call it Resurrection Sunday. It is not about bunnies and eggs. That is derived from pagan rituals. I am not sure why some churches include these things during this time of year, like egg hunts. Maybe I’m a scrooge, but I want to remember this day as a day of celebration of the sacrifice that Jesus made dying on the cross, taking the sins of the world with Him and putting them to death, being raised on the third day, and lives today to intercede for us. He is our Light and our Salvation. By trusting in Him, we have eternal life. Continue reading “Resurrection Sunday…He has Risen!”
Jesus fulfills Old Testament Prophecy
Today I would like to take another detour, though Jesus is a promise of God. With Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday coming up, I wanted to share a little of who Jesus is, why He did what He did, and that God had prophesied these things hundreds of years earlier. This is just one of many in the scriptures, but there is a lot in this scripture from Isaiah of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ, Son of God, God Incarnate, our Lord, our Savior. I broke this scripture from Isaiah up with New testament scriptures that pertain to the prophesy and its fulfillment. Continue reading “Jesus fulfills Old Testament Prophecy”
