With God’s love there is no need to fear. No matter what we are going through, God is always there to guide us through it. Those of us who have faith in Christ know that we have eternal life with Him. So why do we fear? Continue reading “Do Not Fear”
Jesus is the Light. He came to this earth as a light in a world of darkness. Our world is getting darker and Satan is at work trying to subdue the light while he still has time. But, the good news is Jesus is coming and his light cannot be subdued! Until then, we must be the light, reflecting the light of Jesus in the world around us. Continue reading “I AM’s…The Light of the World”
Have you ever wondered the purpose of Jesus’ transfiguration? Why did Jesus reveal Himself in glory to only the three apostles? What was the significance of Elijah and Moses being there? Why did He tell Peter, James and John to not tell anyone until after the resurrection? Let’s see what we can find out about it. Continue reading “Jesus in Glory”
The story of Gideon is an interesting one. Jesus came to him and the Bible called Him “The LORD,” “The Angel of the Lord,” and “The Angel of God.” God was going to save His people, the Israelites through this man, who was the least of the weakest clan. God chose him for that reason, so that people would see that it was God, not man, that saved them. Something we in this society need to remember. No man will save us. Only through Jesus Christ, through His death and resurrection, through His blood, are we saved; not through any good deeds or how good we are, but what He has done and how good He is. Same with our country. No president or no one in Congress will save us from the mess we are in. We need to pray to God for our leaders and our country and this country needs to repent and turn toward Him so that He will heal our land.
So, God called Gideon to trust Him and He would work through him. As Gideon steps forward, God uses him with 300 men to defeat the army of Midian. At first, Gideon had doubts. He had excuses. He asked for a sign…a couple times. God had patience and gave him the faith he needed. He reminded him that He would always be there for him and that He would do the work through him. So the story begins… Continue reading “The Angel of the Lord and Gideon”
In our last discussion we talked about how Paul encouraged others in his prayer for them. He also never ceased to give God praise for all that He has done. This is something we all should remember in our prayers. As we talk to God, we should acknowledge how great a God He is, how good He is to us and all the things He has done for us. There are so many scriptures to choose from that have prayers of praise, particularly from the Psalms, but also many in both the Old and New Testaments. Many scriptures acknowledge God’s greatness and may not actually be part of a prayer, but I think by reading these and perhaps using some of them in our prayer will honor God. As the authors do, let us not only acknowledge Him in our prayers but share it with all those around us. Continue reading “Praise Prayers”
