Many of Jesus’ parables relate to Israel’s way of life. Many people understood about sheepherding, vineyards and olive groves. That was their lifestyle. Jesus would teach with relatable stories. In this parable He teaches that our relationship with Him is much like a grape vine and its branches.

I AM’s…The Vine
Jesus uses much about the pastoral and agricultural lifestyle of Israel in His parables and analogies. Much of their wealth and well-being is based on their vineyards and olive gardens. Here, Jesus says, “I am the vine.” The vine is the sustainer; without the vine there is no fruit. The vine is the livelihood of the family business. Jesus is described as the cornerstone. Confidence in Eternal Life
I was having a conversation the other day about someone we knew who had cancer. I mentioned that this person said that they were ready and knew where they were going. The reply was that we never know until the time comes. I was taken aback by that knowing what both of us were taught. I wish I had spoken up at the time to say what the gospel says about it, so i thought I would write about it here. I will have to pick it up with him again. God’s Promise: Unconditional Love
In this series, I hope to remind everyone of God’s promises. It is something I need to remind myself from time to time. God always keeps His promises and what He says is always true. It is something we should always aspire to do. As Jesus said, “let your yes be yes, and your no, no.”
Today, we will discuss God’s unconditional love. He tells us that He will always love us. Our Father demonstrated that by sending His only Son to this earth to die for us.
