God’s Promises: Comfort and Strength

In our weakness, God gives us strength.  When we struggle, He comforts us.  We will go through hardship; we will have times of weakness.  He doesn’t keep us from those times, He helps us to get through them.  He is always there for us, even when we don’t realize it.  The Spirit will guide us and strengthen us and pray for us. God’s Promise: The Holy Spirit

Anyone who believes in Christ is a new creation.  As one becomes a believer, the Holy Spirit gives him strength as He lives inside Him.  Not sure how this works, but I know the Spirit works in us to guide, us, to pray for us, to convict us to do the right thing and change from doing what’s wrong.  Sometimes He gives us the words to say as we share what God has done for us or when we have conflicts or whatever. How God Helps Us to Grow

sprout-1147803_1280Sanctification is a big word.  But, it basically just means growing in the Spirit to maturity.  We are a work in progress.  This is not about being saved, but about maturing once we are saved.  The Spirit continually works in us throughout our lives.

Walk in the Spirit

What does it mean to “walk in the Spirit?”  This is the second of a series on what we do once we are saved, how a believer should live.  Let us not forget, though, this is not what saves us.  It is by God’s grace, the sacrifice of Jesus’ blood on the cross making atonement for our sins.  Believing in Him from the heart is what saves us.  As a believer, we want to live in a way that honors Him and a way that we can grow spiritually and be a testimony to others.

  • Walk in the Spirit.  Live in a way that honors Him as the Spirit leads you.

When we are saved, the Holy Spirit will come into us and indwell us to guide us (see my post, “The Role of the Holy Spirit”). Continue reading “Walk in the Spirit”
