I never called my dad, “Father.” He was always my Dad and the God in Heaven is my Father. My Dad was a great Dad who was a godly man, but our Heavenly Father is a perfect Father. He will never leave you or forsake you. He will always do what is best. He loves you so much that He sent His One and Only Son into the world to pay for our sins. Jesus gave His life for us. He and the Father are one. And he has adopted those who believe and trust in Jesus, that He lived, that He gave His life, that He paid for our sins on the cross, and that He rose again on the third day and sits at the right hand of God the Father. He has called those of us who accept that gift children of God. And we can call Him, Abba, Father.

Happy Belated Birthday, Jesus!
It’s that time of year when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Regardless of whether this is truly the date when Jesus was born (and in all likelihood it is not), the important thing is that the Son of God came into this world, born to a virgin, and died on the cross for our sins, and any and all who believe, and trust that we are saved by His death and resurrection, are saved and will have eternal life with Him. Many have tried to explain the concept of the Trinity. I don’t know if I can. It is hard to comprehend. It is God in 3 persons. Each have a role, yet each is separate. The Father is Almighty God, above all. He is the creator and sustainer. Jesus Christ is the Son. He is our Lord, our redeemer. He paid for our sins so that we can be forgiven if we choose to believe. He will return to judge the earth. He was there during creation, and He will be there in the end. The Holy Spirit indwells those who believe. He guides and convicts. He gives us spiritual gifts. He prays for us on our behalf.

This year has been a rough one for us and we are still feeling the effects from it. But through it all, we know that God is good and He is with us, even when we don’t feel Him. We know that God is working in us. We know because He keeps His promises and we have seen His blessings in our lives and others. So often, when times are hard, we don’t see the promises and blessings at the time, but later on in life we look back and are thankful for all the things He has done. Even when we are going through struggles, we need to be reminded of all His goodness and the blessings we already have. Therefore, let us bless the Lord, be thankful of Him, and praise His name as we see throughout the scriptures.
