Zechariah: The Coming Messiah

This is part 2 of the messages from God through Zechariah. There are many prophesies of the coming Messiah, all of which either have been fulfilled by Jesus Christ or will be in His Second Coming. The previous post talked about Jesus as King and priest, the Branch, the Vine, the Root of David. Zechariah – Jesus: Priest, King, Son of God

There are many scriptures in the Old Testament that point to Jesus Christ as The Messiah and He fulfilled them all. Zechariah had many prophesies of Jesus, the Son of God. We will discuss these in this and the next post. As foretold in scripture, The Messiah would come in the line of David. Jesus is the Branch, the root of David, the vine. Habakkuk: Questioning God

Often people ask why a loving God allows bad things to happen. Habakkuk was no different. He saw violence and injustice happening all around him and He was asking God why He is allowing this to happen. God didn’t shoot him down for it but answered. He had a plan. God’s word always has a message, and although Micah may be speaking to Israel, all of us need to take note. What He teaches one people are words for all people. The words of more than 2000 years ago still apply today.

Joel: The Day of the Lord

What is the Day of the Lord? What will happened in the End Times? What do we do in the meantime? Joel and other prophets received prophesies from God about the future. Many of these prophesies have already happened. Many are yet to come. The purpose is more than just showing us the future. It’s to prepare us for it, lead us to God, to change people’s hearts and bring them to salvation.
