In the third part of my post about Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31), we will discuss heaven; what it might be like and the hope and assurance that those who love God and believe in Jesus Christ will spend eternity with Him there. What a great gift God has offered us, if we only accept it by believing and trusting in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

New Covenant Living
I was debating on the title for this study between “New Covenant Living” and “Practical Christianity.” There is a lot in Hebrews 13 about how we are to conduct ourselves as Christians. It’s kind of a “now that I am saved, what do I do now?” instruction manual. Of course, it is not the only one. The New Testament is full of letters on how we are to live as a child of God. There have been a couple good studies on Hebrews that I went through that taught me a lot on this book, one by J.D. Graeer and one by Pete Briscoe. You can probably find both on YouTube or just google them. Anyways, some of this comes from notes I have from watching their studies. I hope this will strengthen you, encourage you and help you to grow in your walk with the Lord. May God bless you always! Continue reading “New Covenant Living”
Love and Marriage
In a few days is my wife’s and my 21st anniversary! What a blessing God has given me to be happily married to a wonderful wife that I love. It is sad to see what the world has become when it comes to love and marriage, especially in American society. We have twisted the values of marriage, of love, of relationships and wonder why there is so much hatred and violence. We try to pass laws to “fix” the situations instead of going to the source…the home and the heart. Until those things are fixed, it’s not going to get better. We need more love, less selfishness. We need to raise our kids to love and respect others and how to treat our spouses. We need to make God the center of our home and our lives. Most of us know “the love chapter” in 1 Corinthians 13. You hear it in weddings often. We need to read through this carefully and live it. What else does God say about marriage?
Marriage and Relationships
What does the Bible say about marriage and relationships? I am no expert (if you want good, expert advice, try Focus on the Family or Family Life Today) and I have many flaws as a husband, but I try to follow what God says how to treat my wife and others. I often fail, but I try. I hope this post will encourage you, whether married or single. God’s Word has much to say about relationships and I would like to share with you a few scriptures to help you be a better husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend or what to look for in one. Marriage is a wonderful thing, created by God, so use wisdom, show love, be kind and honest, take your time, enjoy it, and always put God first and in the center of your life and your relationship.
