What is the Day of the Lord? What will happened in the End Times? What do we do in the meantime? Joel and other prophets received prophesies from God about the future. Many of these prophesies have already happened. Many are yet to come. The purpose is more than just showing us the future. It’s to prepare us for it, lead us to God, to change people’s hearts and bring them to salvation.

Joel: Warnings and Prophecies
God often starts a prophecy with a warning, but He also offers hope and blessing. God wants His people to do the right thing, to turn to Him, to be blessed. But sometimes, people are stubborn and it takes drastic measures to get their attention. Actions result in consequences. Ever wonder why there is so much chaos and so many troubles in this world? Perhaps we need to turn to God. Perhaps He is trying to get our attention.

God gives each of us gifts of the Holy Spirit. But, what are they? Paul lists several of them. I believe that this probably is not an exhaustive list, but let’s look at this list and what each of these gifts are. This is what I have gathered from teachings (and, yes, Google). Today I would like to take another detour, though Jesus is a promise of God. With Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday coming up, I wanted to share a little of who Jesus is, why He did what He did, and that God had prophesied these things hundreds of years earlier. This is just one of many in the scriptures, but there is a lot in this scripture from Isaiah of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ, Son of God, God Incarnate, our Lord, our Savior.
