How often Jesus used the analogy of water to get His point across. He calmed the sea. He walked on water. He turned water into wine. He offered living water to those who believe by paying for our sins on the cross. As Jesus was on the cross, He shows His humanness here. He was thirsty. He could have used His power in the same way. I Commit My Spirit

Words on the Cross
The cross. The crucifixion. Jesus. His love. His sacrifice. His humility. God’s Will. Salvation for all. Jesus went through a horrible death for you and me. He suffered. He was beaten. He was tortured. He was betrayed. He was forsaken. He wasn’t killed; He gave His life. It was God’s plan. This would redeem us. It would save us from our sins. We would be declared righteous by His blood, by His sacrifice, by His love and forgiveness. Because of this, we can have eternal life if we believe and trust in Him.
Every event and every word that He spoke on this dark day would have significance. It would teach us something. It would reveal something about Him. The gospels record seven phrases that Jesus spoke on the cross. For the next few posts we will discuss the words and events during the Crucifixion. Redemption by Propitiation
How did Christ redeem us? What does it mean that Jesus is our propitiation? More of those big words (as we discussed in the last few posts) that is so important to the gospel. Because of our sin, because of God’s righteousness and justice, the penalty needs to be paid, a sacrifice. God the Father provided that through His Son, Jesus Christ. I AMs…Before Abraham was, I AM.
There has been a couple times now that I received a comment from someone claiming I do not understand the scriptures and that Jesus is not God and never claimed to be. I admit that I do not understand all the scriptures and by no means am I an expert, but one thing I do know and have no doubt is that Jesus is Lord. He came to this earth, God in the flesh, to save us from our sins. Jesus’ I AM statements along with His works show us that He is God. To not believe that Jesus is God, you would have to remove much of the New Testament (and The Old Testament, that points to the Messiah).
