Born again is kind of an odd term. What does that mean? Why would one want it? How do we accomplish it? In my previous post, “I am Saved…Now what to do?” I listed some points in how to live a Christian life, what we should do as a church and how to overcome spiritual battles. I think this list answers all three questions. There may be more, but I think I got the meat of it. Comments are welcome if I missed any. I mentioned that I would go into more detail. Today I will cover the first one.
- First, you must be born again. Believe in Jesus Christ and through that you will become a new creation.

In following with the previous post, do we have enough love in us to share the gospel so that others know about the saving grace of Jesus Christ? Of who He is? Are we worried about what they might think? If we do not share the gospel with others, what does God think about that? Sometimes I am ashamed for not having the boldness to be a witness to those around me…family, coworkers, friends, people at the store, etc…etc… Often my actions are fair, but do others know that I am a child of God? If not, shame on me! Continue reading “We are God’s Watchmen”
So, I have just returned from a mission trip to Haiti. God is doing wonderful things there and I am so honored and blesses to be able to experience some of that in the little time I was able to. Praise God for all He has done!
The devil is very active in Haiti with more than half the people here practicing voodoo of one form or another. In preparing for this trip, I have encountered obstacles and distractions, opposition and even doubt. But I needed to stay strong in the Lord and pray often. I also noticed that during this week, I was often distracted while praying or skipped my morning prayers. I did make sure to read my Bible every day which encouraged me to pray. I had to keep my mind on God and pray as often as I can for the mission, for the kids, and for what I am doing while I am here. James said to resist the devil and I did just that as much as I could. Seeking God’s word and asking him for protection and guidance always works, even when things get tough. God wasn’t necessarily visible this trip, but I know He was there and I can see the work He is doing at the mission.
Anyways, we all go through struggles in life and wonder if we are doing the right thing or does God really hear us and things like that at one time or another. The devil likes to put lies in your head, but remember that his desire is to destroy your faith and keep you from sharing God’s love and grace and prevent others from a saving relationship in Jesus Christ. “Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”…
“You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.” Revelation 4:8, 11
Who is God? What is His character and attributes? There are scriptures throughout the Bible that describe Him and who He is. For this post, I will use the Book of Revelation to try to share who God is. He is the great, almighty God who is worthy to receive all of our blessings and worship. He has given us everything. He created us and He loves us.

Many celebrate Palm Sunday, the week before Easter. For Jews, it is the start of the Passover. Jesus and His disciples comes to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened bread. It was a time to commemorate God’s deliverance of the nation. Jesus came to deliver the world. A week later, He would be betrayed, arrested, mocked, beaten, stripped and crucified, and resurrected on the third day after His death. Jesus came to this earth for that purpose.
So what is the significance of Palm Sunday? What was it about? It was described in all four gospels. It was prophesied in the Old Testament. I think it was significant for a few reasons. First, it was proclaimed to all of Israel that He was the Messiah. Many Jews flocked to Jerusalem. When they saw Jesus, they worshipped Him. Many worshipped Him because it was shortly after He raised Lazarus from the dead and they either witnessed this firsthand, or heard of the news of what Christ had done. Second, He was fulfilling prophesy and it was time to reveal who He was and why He had come. Continue reading “What is Palm Sunday About?”
