God the Father: Who is He?

As we dive into what the Trinity is all about, we will look at each person of the Trinity, the Godhead. Who is God the Father? If you had a good father here on earth, God the Father is so much more. He created us, and He loves us. He knows what is best and will accomplish it. If your relationship with your earthly father was not great, you know there is a Father in heaven who loves and will never harm you. He is Almighty God who is powerful and strong, but yet gentle and kind. He is just and He is merciful. There is so much to Our Father in Heaven that is beyond our comprehension, that is indescribable. But one thing we do know is He loves us and wants an intimate relationship with us. So, who is God the Father?

What Treasure Do You Seek?

Treasures are great. What treasure do you seek? There is so much excitement when we find a treasure. But there is no treasure on this earth that can compare to that which will be waiting in heaven for those of us who trust in Jesus. Even now, here on this earth, we will receive some reward. Following Jesus does not guarantee an easy life, or riches, or good health, but we will have joy even through hard times. We will have confidence knowing that Christ is always by our side and the glory that awaits us in heaven. Jesus gives a few parables about treasures that we ought to seek.

Growth of the Kingdom

God’s Kingdom continues to grow. Jesus tells a few parables of what the Kingdom of God, or the Kingdom of heaven, is like. These parables describe the growth of God’s kingdom and the spread of the gospel.

Figs

Today we are talking about figs. Kind of an odd thing to talk about, but in Jesus’ day a fig was a regular staple. Jesus told 3 different parables at different times using figs as a symbolic example.

I AM’s…The Way, the Truth, the Life

There was a sermon a couple weeks ago about how Christianity is exclusive…yet very inclusive.  Jesus Christ offers salvation to ALL who believe.  If you trust in Jesus Christ, you will be saved.  No exceptions.  But it is ONLY through Jesus Christ.  There is no other way to heaven.  No other way to the Father.  Jesus is the only way.  Through Him we have eternal life.  That is the truth.
