We want our prayers to be answered. There is so much going on in our lives, so many ‘needs’ and desires. As we pray, let us focus on how great and awesome our God is, who provides all our needs and always does what is best. He loves us more than we could ever imagine. Continue reading “Bless the Lord”
What does it look like to ‘pick up our cross?’ I think Matthew 25:31-46 may be a partial answer – Continue reading “How do We Pick up Our Cross?”
It is such an awesome thing when someone decides to believe in Jesus Christ. Believing in Jesus Christ is different than just believing that He is real and that He is the Son of God. It takes surrender. It takes following Him and obeying His commands. Those of us who confess that we are believers in Christ, do we do these things? Let us surrender to Jesus and remember that our old self is dead and hung on the cross with Jesus (see my post, Christ in Me). We are a new creation in Christ Jesus (see my post, God’s Grace Frees Us from Sin ). I thank God that He did this for me and changed my life! He did it for you, too. I hope that you take this opportunity to surrender to Him and be free. Free from your sin, free from your past. Continue reading “Carry Your Own Cross”

By following these things and Paul’s example, we can be assured that God is with us. God will direct our paths and lead us to righteousness if we are His. My verse for today: Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. ”
Many things in life I am ashamed of and regret, but thankfully that was my old self and Christ died on the cross so that I am forgiven of those things and when I decided to follow Him, He gave me the Holy Spirit to convict me and change me and I am a new person, living for Him with new desires. He has given me joy and peace and I know that although I mess up at times, He is there to lift me up so that I can continue to do His work…or I should say that He does His work in me and through me. Without Him I can do nothing. But, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). It is not I who does good things it is Jesus and He deserves all the glory.
