As we continue our study of Jesus in the Old and New Testaments, we will talk about prophecies of the Messiah coming to save all nations, Jews and Gentiles alike. God is a God of all, not just Israel. He created the whole world and everything in it. He created mankind in His own image, and He loves each and every one of us. He sent His Son to pay for all of our sins and be a sacrifice for all. Jesus is the Redeemer of everyone. All who believe. No exceptions. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

The Christ Child in the Old and New Testaments
In the last post we discussed Jesus’ life and death as prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament. In this post we will look at Jesus’ birth. There are many scriptures in the Old Testament that point to Jesus Christ as The Messiah and He fulfilled them all. Zechariah had many prophesies of Jesus, the Son of God. We will discuss these in this and the next post. As foretold in scripture, The Messiah would come in the line of David. Jesus is the Branch, the root of David, the vine. As we abide in Him, we can have eternal life with Him. Zechariah tells of the coming Branch, who will come as a servant, but be both king and a priest.
