Many people today think that there are many ways that lead to heaven. But there is one way and that is through Jesus Christ. He is the only way. It is not through doing good deeds or through priests or other people. It is through faith in Him. Trust in Jesus and you will be saved. That is what Jesus is trying to tell the people of His day (and us). The priests had added many traditions in addition to the law, but they didn’t get it. God wants a relationship with us. He wants our hearts. That is why Jesus came. To pay for our sins and offer a relationship with Him so that we may be saved. All roads do not lead to heaven. It is a narrow road through a narrow gate in which Jesus is the door.

A Rock Solid Foundation
Jesus knew a thing or two about building. One thing he knew was that you need a firm foundation, and what it stands on. Our faith is no different. We need a firm foundation and we need it to stand firm. We can only do that with Christ being that foundation. And what we stand on is His words…the truth.

Light is so important in life and one of those things we sometimes take for granted. Without light we stumble. Without the light of the sun, plants would die, and we would not get the nutrients we need and the warmth for our bodies. Living in darkness would take its toll on our physical and psychological health. It is no wonder Jesus often talked about light and darkness and why Jesus is called The Light of the World.

Sheep are not the brightest of animals and rely on their shepherd for everything. Jesus often referred to people as sheep, as His sheep. We often make stupid decisions and make dumb mistakes. We fall short. But we can (and should) always rely on Him. We need to trust Jesus, not only for our salvation, but in everything. He has given the Holy Spirit to those of us who believe to guide us. In every situation, we should pray. Ask God for guidance. Do as Jesus would do. Love others as Jesus loves us. But we are more to God than just dumb animals. We are all special to Him. Each one of us. Christ is our Good Shepherd and seeks to do what is best for us and to protect us from harm. He delights in each one of us.
