Jesus’ Life and Death in the Old and New Testaments

Jesus is the most talked about person in the history of the world. Why is that? Why so much controversy? Many people love Him, and many people hate Him? Why? When He came to this world, he showed nothing but love and kindness. Why do people doubt Him? He has been written about not only in the Bible, but in historical writings as well. It is hard to dispute He existed, though many do. Many doubt that He is who He says He is. But He was written about throughout the Old Testament and many prophesies pointed to Him.

Who is Jesus, the Son of God?

People say many things to say about Jesus Christ. There is much to say about Him. God the Father has much to say about Him. Those who saw Him had much to say about Him. Many say He was a prophet. Many say He was a good teacher. Many say He was crazy. Many rejected Him. Few say He did not exist; there were too many witnesses and too much written about Him. The Trinity: God in 3 Persons

Many have tried to explain the concept of the Trinity. I don’t know if I can. It is hard to comprehend. It is God in 3 persons. Each have a role, yet each is separate. He will return to judge the earth. He was there during creation, and He will be there in the end. The Holy Spirit indwells those who believe. He guides and convicts. He gives us spiritual gifts. He prays for us on our behalf.

Resurrection Sunday

Today we celebrate the most important day in history: Resurrection Sunday. All we need to do is accept that free gift of grace and mercy, trust in Jesus, and believe that this is true.

Get out of the Boat

There is so much we can learn from the event of Jesus walking on water and Peter getting out of the boat to walk on water. A great study that we have done is called, “If You Want to Get Out of the Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat,” By John Ortberg. I have gone through it several times with different small groups and I learned so much from it. God can do great things in each of us if we are willing to step out in faith. And there is so much more in that story.
