The Narrow Way

Many people today think that there are many ways that lead to heaven. But there is one way and that is through Jesus Christ. He is the only way. It is not through doing good deeds or through priests or other people. It is through faith in Him. Trust in Jesus and you will be saved. That is what Jesus is trying to tell the people of His day (and us). The priests had added many traditions in addition to the law, but they didn’t get it. God wants a relationship with us. He wants our hearts. That is why Jesus came. To pay for our sins and offer a relationship with Him so that we may be saved. All roads do not lead to heaven. It is a narrow road through a narrow gate in which Jesus is the door.

Luke 13:23-30

Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?”

And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God. And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”

God is not interested in how religious you are. How much you serve in the church or how many good deeds you do will not get you to heaven. We all fall short. Jesus said, “Come to Me.” He says whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. We are saved by grace through faith. It is God’s gift to us. Jesus took our sins and died for us so that we may live, so that we may be saved from our sins. The world tells us all roads lead to heaven. No! There is one way.

Matthew 7:13-14

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

He is the one and only. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. He paid for all of our sins. Every sin of every one of us. He cares for each one of us and it is His desire that we all are saved. But few accept His gift. Some will follow other people that claim they are the way to salvation or follow a religion or belief, thinking that is the way. But they are many false teachers, false beliefs, and false religions. The evil one sends lies to many and they follow (to their own destruction). Satan is the thief that seeks to steal, kill and destroy. And he does it using seemingly good people and sneaks in with any means he can including religion. He brings in lies and half-truths to keep people from following the truth and being saved.

John 10:7-18

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He will lead you to righteousness and to salvation. He is the door. Anyone entering through the door will find God. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the only way to true life. To eternal Life. To a life worth living. And He offers it to all of us. Thank God!

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

I lived in the far corner of Northeastern Washington with my beautiful wife, but now live in Wisconsin while I look for work. God has blessed me tremendously and so thankful for His grace and the people He has put in my life and His work in and around me.
