In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Continue reading “Jesus: Lord, Savior, Son of God? Yes!”
A hard concept in Christianity is one God in three Persons. Many times I feel like I understand it, but to explain it is often difficult. We will see if I succeed. I am sure I will get a comment of someone telling me I did not. I received a comment in my previous blog that I was wrong saying Jesus is God. But, the more I looked the more evidence I see in the scriptures of His deity. More on this in future posts. Even though it was a negative comment, it was good because it inspired me to dig deeper and gave me ideas to write more posts! So, here we go! Continue reading “Who is God?”
Yesterday was Easter, or as I like to call it, Resurrection Sunday. It is not about Easter bunnies or eggs. Those things came from a pagan religion worshipping a false god of fertility. We need to remember what the holiday is truly about. It is about Jesus, Who died for our sins and was raised from the dead on the third day. It is about our redemption and salvation. It is about God’s grace and sacrifice
So, Who is Jesus? Some say He was a prophet, a good teacher a good person. Some say He was only an idea (Unfortunately for them, there is overwhelming evidence that He did exist). But He is much more than that. For me, He is the One who changed my life, who saved me, forgave me and overcame death so that I would have eternal life. And, He is so much more. Continue reading “Who is Jesus and Who are We in Christ?”
It is such an awesome thing when someone decides to believe in Jesus Christ. Believing in Jesus Christ is different than just believing that He is real and that He is the Son of God. It takes surrender. It takes following Him and obeying His commands. Those of us who confess that we are believers in Christ, do we do these things? Let us surrender to Jesus and remember that our old self is dead and hung on the cross with Jesus (see my post, Christ in Me). We are a new creation in Christ Jesus (see my post, God’s Grace Frees Us from Sin ). I thank God that He did this for me and changed my life! He did it for you, too. I hope that you take this opportunity to surrender to Him and be free. Free from your sin, free from your past. Continue reading “Carry Your Own Cross”
