Resurrection Sunday

Today we celebrate the most important day in history: Resurrection Sunday. The day Jesus Christ rose from the dead after dying for your sins and mine, after paying the full penalty of our sins, all of them, for everyone. All we need to do is accept that free gift of grace and mercy, trust in Jesus, and believe that this is true.

Vine and Branches

Many of Jesus’ parables relate to Israel’s way of life. Many people understood about sheepherding, vineyards and olive groves. That was their lifestyle. Jesus would teach with relatable stories. In this parable He teaches that our relationship with Him is much like a grape vine and its branches.

The Lord’s Prayer; no, not that one

Last week, we talked about the model prayer from Matthew 6, that many call “The Lord’s Prayer.”  I think it is more fitting to call Jesus’ prayer in the garden “The Lord’s Prayer.”  It is His prayer.  As He prepares Himself to give His life and take on the sins of the world onto the cross, He prays a heartfelt prayer for His mission, for His disciples and for all believers.
