God the Father: Who is He?

As we dive into what the Trinity is all about, we will look at each person of the Trinity, the Godhead. Who is God the Father? If you had a good father here on earth, God the Father is so much more. He created us, and He loves us. He knows what is best and will accomplish it. If your relationship with your earthly father was not great, you know there is a Father in heaven who loves and will never harm you. He is Almighty God who is powerful and strong, but yet gentle and kind. He is just and He is merciful. There is so much to Our Father in Heaven that is beyond our comprehension, that is indescribable. But one thing we do know is He loves us and wants an intimate relationship with us. So, who is God the Father?

Worship with Psalms

As you spend time with God and as you worship Him, it is good to look through the Psalms and remember what a great God He is. Take time each day to pray and read some of these (maybe even out loud) to give God praise as your act of worship. As we discussed in the previous post, this is not the only way to worship God. Also as we discussed, worship is more than singing in church. It is your daily devotion to Him. Let us start each day with an attitude of worship to the God who loves us beyond measure and has given us so much to be thankful for.

Jesus’ Sacrifice and Glory in Isaiah

Long before Jesus came to this earth, there were prophesies throughout the Old Testament of His coming.  Many did not understand and many opposed Him.  But many believed and were redeemed through Him.  As we mentioned in the previous post, God had a plan for us through Christ.  And Jesus fulfilled scripture.  Isaiah 53 is just one example. New Covenant Living

I was debating on the title for this study between “New Covenant Living” and “Practical Christianity.”  There is a lot in Hebrews 13 about how we are to conduct ourselves as Christians.  It’s kind of a “now that I am saved, what do I do now?” instruction manual.  Of course, it is not the only one.  The New Testament is full of letters on how we are to live as a child of God.  There have been a couple good studies on Hebrews that I went through that taught me a lot on this book, one by J.D. Graeer and one by Pete Briscoe.  You can probably find both on YouTube or just google them.  Anyways, some of this comes from notes I have from watching their studies.  I hope this will strengthen you, encourage you and help you to grow in your walk with the Lord.  May God bless you always! Jesus: Lord, Savior, Son of God? Yes!

John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

  John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

  Revelation 19:11-16

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Continue reading “Jesus: Lord, Savior, Son of God? Yes!”
