Did you know the Bible uses several names for God? In the Hebrew text, God is called different names that are all translated “God” or “LORD.” I do not know Hebrew, but we will learn the different names of God and their meanings together. In the Hebrew culture, names were more than just a way to identify someone. Names described their character, their traits, who they are. So, as we study the names of God, we will learn who God is, and what His character is.

Do Not Fear; God’s Got This
November is right around the corner and so are the elections. Scary, right?! But God tells us again and again there is no need to fear. Do not worry. He is in control. Even if we end up with someone in office we do not like or is a tyrant or is not qualified, God has a plan and we need not fear. Many do not have the freedoms we have here in the U.S. Let us be grateful for what we have while we still have it (and pray for those who don’t). Also as we discussed, worship is more than singing in church. It is your daily devotion to Him. Let us start each day with an attitude of worship to the God who loves us beyond measure and has given us so much to be thankful for.

Long before Jesus came to this earth, there were prophesies throughout the Old Testament of His coming. Many did not understand and many opposed Him. But many believed and were redeemed through Him. As we mentioned in the previous post, God had a plan for us through Christ. And Jesus fulfilled scripture. Isaiah 53 is just one example. Continue reading “Jesus’ Sacrifice and Glory in Isaiah”
