In the previous post on God’s promises, we talked about the Holy Spirit promised by God to those who believe to help us, guide, pray for us, convict us. The Spirit lives in us to help us grow. God also reminds us that it is His great grace that gives us salvation. Nothing we can do will earn our way into heaven or gain God’s favor. He did it all. He gave us grace, the undeserved favor. Christ went to the cross to take away our sins. His work saves us. It is through faith we are saved. And He gives us the Spirit as a guarantee of our salvation. Apart from the World
How does God want us to live? Number 4 in our “We are saved…now what?” series. When we are saved, we are now apart from the world. We are a new creation, we have been set free, God has a plan for us, let us be an example, a testimony to those around us.
- Do not love the world. Overcome the temptations of this world and your flesh.
Walk in the Spirit
What does it mean to “walk in the Spirit?” This is the second of a series on what we do once we are saved, how a believer should live. Let us not forget, though, this is not what saves us. It is by God’s grace, the sacrifice of Jesus’ blood on the cross making atonement for our sins. Believing in Him from the heart is what saves us. As a believer, we want to live in a way that honors Him and a way that we can grow spiritually and be a testimony to others.
- Walk in the Spirit. Live in a way that honors Him as the Spirit leads you.
