God’s Promise: Adoption

adoption-1631089-1279x853One of the greatest promises God has given us is adoption to be children of God.  For those of us who believe, He has accepted us to be part of His family and heirs of eternal life (more on this next time).  He didn’t decide to adopt us because of our love for Him or all the great things that we have done, but because He loved us, because Christ died for us that we may be sons of God.  I talked last time about being a sponsor for children and how missionaries go to a strange land and accept children as their own, sharing God’s love.  How much more does God love us and accept us as His children.  What an awesome thing! God, Our Loving Father

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.  What does that mean?  And who is our Father?  He is our loving God and Father, Who sent His One and Only Son to die for us so that our sins may be forgiven.  He is the creator of all, the ruler of all and He loves each one of us more than any earthly father could.  He is the Almighty, All-powerful, All-knowing, ever-present, just and righteous, loving God and Father, Who deserves all of our worship.  He deserves our all.
