Access to the Father

God gives us more than we can imagine including direct access to Him.  God the Father wants His children to talk with Him.  He loves us.  He sent His Son to die for us so that we can have that access.  Jesus took the sins of the world to the cross so that we can be declared righteous to be in the presence of almighty God.  In the early days of Israel, only the priests were allowed in the Holy of Holies, in the presence of God, to intercede for the people.  But Jesus changed all of that.  We no longer need to go through a priest or anyone to speak with God, to ask forgiveness, to be redeemed.  Each of us can go directly to Him, not through ritual or a mediator.  Christ is that Mediator and all who believe in Him have the Holy Spirit in them to guide, to convict, to intercede and pray for us.

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Ephesians 2:13-18

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Through Jesus’ blood on the cross, we are no longer separated from God by our sins.  We are joined with Him by our faith.

Hebrews 10:19-24

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

There is only one way to salvation, only one way to forgiveness, one way to eternal salvation and that is through Jesus Christ.

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time

John 10:27-30

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”

I lived in the far corner of Northeastern Washington with my beautiful wife, but now live in Wisconsin while I look for work. God has blessed me tremendously and so thankful for His grace and the people He has put in my life and His work in and around me.
