Our God, The Holy One

Our God is “The Holy One”, “Qadosh.” He is worthy to be worshipped and praised. All honor should go to Him. He is the prefect, righteous creator of this earth, of everything in it, of the universe and everything in it. Our devotion should be completely to Him. And He sent His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ, the Holy One, God the Son, who is perfect and sinless, to pay the price for our sins and die in our place, so that if we accept that gift and surrender to Him we may live and have eternal life with Him. What an awesome God we serve!

Everlasting God, El Olam

What do we know about our God? He is eternal. He is the Everlasting God. Hebrew scripture calls Him El Olam, or a form of this. He is the Creator of the universe and everything in it He has existed since the beginning of time and will always exist. He is “the One who is, and who was, and who is to come.” He was not created by man, but created man and woman. He is the all-powerful, all knowing, self-existent God. He is indescribable and beyond our imagination No one is like our God.

Wrestling with God

In our discussions about Jesus, the instances referred to Him as “The Angel of the Lord.”  There are also instance that He appears and is described differently.  In some cases, we are not sure it is actually Jesus, or God the Father, or The Holy Spirit, but there are some clues and there is a good indication that it is Jesus.  Regardless, we know it is God and it does point to our Savior, The Messiah, Jesus Christ.  In each case, there is a lesson for us.  One lesson that is common throughout scripture, is to trust in the Lord.
