God Can Work through You

No matter what you have done in your past, God can work through you.  He can change you and give you strength.  Nothing in your past is so terrible that He will not use you to His glory and through it, bless you and others.  The struggles in your past may be the thing he uses to help someone with the same struggles.  He shows His power through our weakness, his strength in our insecurity.  Throughout the Bible, God used the people that most would never believe possible.  Paul, the great minister of God, persecuted the Christians of his day.  Moses murdered someone and could not speak well.  Gideon was the least of his family of a low-class tribe.  Joseph was a slave and became the highest ranking officer in Egypt to be used by God.  These are just a few. What is our Assurance? Part 2

This is the second part of scriptures on eternal security.  Are we forever saved once we accept Christ as Lord and Savior?  Or can we lose our salvation?  What do you think?  More on that in the future.  Before reading, please be sure to read through my previous post in Part 1.  When you finish and think about it. please comment.  I hope to get a good discussion.  I have friends who believe one of each of the arguments, some who may not believe in either.  I hope as you search the scriptures and pary to God, that you will have clarity.  Whatever the case may be, may you be blessed and may the Holy Spirit speak to your heart. Law and Grace

What does it mean for us?  How does grace fit in?  How does the law fit in with grace?  What is grace?  Grace is unmerited favor; it is a gift from God.  Nothing we cannot earn our way into heaven.  To follow the law to earn our way to heaven, we must follow the whole law, every bit of it, all of it, every day. God’s Grace Frees Us from Sin

Now that you have accepted God’s grace and have received salvation, what next?  As you have become a child of God, the Holy Spirit indwells you.  The Holy Spirit, Who convicts you of sin, guides you and prays for you.  This is where the change in life begins.  Many people nowadays steer away from the subject of sin.  But, sin is real and God hates sin.  Yes, I said it.  God hates sin.  But through Christ, you are freed from a life of sin.  You will still sin, but you will no longer be in bondage to it and that will diminish as you live for Him, stay in God’s word, and continue in prayer.  Your desires will be that of righteousness and the desires of sin will be washed away.  There will be a battle within you, but now you can claim victory over sin.  There is a continual growth throughout the rest of your life (Christians have a fancy word for this called “sanctification”).  This will be a process.  We must put away our old self, for that person has died and begin living a new, vibrant life full of love and joy that one can only obtain through the Holy Spirit (see the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23). God Saves Us

God rays.jpgWhy do we need God? Why do we need salvation?  God sent His Son to die for us so that we can be saved.  Why?

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

I wanted to start with this to remind people that no one is perfect. I am not perfect. I have many flaws. I am just like you. But, God is faithful and loves all of us. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were sinners Christ died for us.” If we believe this with all our heart and turn to Him, we will be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For by grace we have been saved through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. We are all equal in God’s eyes. None of us are saved by anything we do. We cannot earn salvation. It is God’s gift to us. It is what Jesus did on the cross that saves us and only through Him are we saved.  Praise God for all You do and for changing my life and my desires and giving me hope. May the Lord bless all of you!
