Our God is described in many ways. He is the God most High. There are no other Gods besides Him. He is above all things and greater than anything we can imagine. He is Supreme and Ruler over all. I have found 2 different Hebrew words that mean God Most High. El Elyon, or Elyown shows the supremacy of God while El Illay shows the more personal, intimate side of the Most High God that connects God to His people, who is to be worshipped. He is big and powerful, yet He loves us and wants a relationship with us.
Psalms 18:13-17
The LORD [Yahweh] thundered from heaven, and the Most High [Elyown] uttered His voice, hailstones and coals of fire. He sent out His arrows and scattered the foe, lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them. Then the channels of the sea were seen, the foundations of the world were uncovered at Your rebuke, O LORD [Yahweh], at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils. He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me.
There is nothing God can’t do. He created the universe. Yet He cares about each one of us. He will protect His people. He is the God of righteousness and justice. One day He will judge all the earth and make things right. And for that we will praise His name and be thankful.
Psalms 97:1-12
The LORD [Yahweh] reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad! Clouds and darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. A fire goes before Him, and burns up His enemies round about. His lightnings light the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD [Yahweh], at the presence of the Lord [Adown] of the whole earth. The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the peoples see His glory. Let all be put to shame who serve carved images, who boast of idols. Worship Him, all you gods. Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice because of Your judgments, O LORD [Yahweh]. For You, LORD [Yahweh], are most high [Elyown], above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods. You who love the LORD [Yahweh], hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD [Yahweh], you righteous, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
God is The Most High. We should always praise and honor Him for He is good. Nothing can compare to His greatness. Let us always be thankful for what He has done for us, for breathing life into us, for the creation around us, for His love and sacrifice so that we may be saved.

Psalms 47:1-9
Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God [Elohim] with the voice of triumph! For the LORD Most High [Yahweh Elyown] is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. He will subdue the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet. He will choose our inheritance for us, the excellence of Jacob whom He loves.
Selah
God [Elohim] has gone up with a shout, the LORD [Yahweh] with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God [Elohim], sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God [Elohim] is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding. God [Elohim] reigns over the nations; God [Elohim] sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have gathered together, the people of the God [Elohe] of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God [Elohim]; He is greatly exalted.
The God of Abraham is the God of all the world. He did not come just to save the Jews, but for all peoples. He gave us Gentiles the privilege of obtaining the inheritance of eternal life along with His Chosen People, Israel. As He promised Abraham, ALL the peoples of earth will be blessed through his Seed. And because of that, we can clap our hands in triumph.
Daniel 7:23-28
“Thus he said: ‘The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces. The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones, and shall subdue three kings. He shall speak pompous words against the Most High [Illay], shall persecute the saints of the Most High [Elyown], and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time.
‘But the court shall be seated, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it forever. Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High [Elyown]. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.’ “This is the end of the account. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance changed; but I kept the matter in my heart.”
Many tried to receive the praise and worship that God deserves but have failed. And as we near that day when Christ will return in all His glory, Satan and His demons will make one last push to raise themselves up to be like God Most High and will again fail. But God never fails, and His Kingdom will not fail. And the victory belongs to our Lord and we will have victory over sin and death, not by what we have done, but because of God’s love and grace.

Isaiah 14:12-15
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God [El]; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High [Elyown].’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.
Satan had pride and tried to elevate himself as God but forgot that he was created by God. Many have done the same. But there is only one God. There is only one High and mighty. Pride is not a thing to be celebrated. God prefers humility.
Isaiah 57:15
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

God Most High is the one we should worship. He is Holy. He is the God who created all things. Let us be humble and seek Him. Let us put our trust in Him. Jesus, God the Son, humbled Himself to become a man and die on the cross for our sins. Any and all who believe will have eternal life, and their sins are forgiven. Praise God!
